Haha! Thanks for the welcome Pete.

My name is a combination of alot of things. I play guitar in the style of Leo Kottke and such. And I have sort of developed this pseudo bluegrass/newgrass/folk/noise rock sort of style. I asked one of my friends what he thought it sounded like, and his reply was “If you let a bunch of bluegrass go sour, that’d be it” and so I thought, lemons are sour, therefore I will call this style lemongrass. So I began calling it that.

Come a few years later, a person who had seen me play live recognized me and shouted “Hey! You’re that guy, the lemongrass picker!” and I liked the sound of it.

Plus I really enjoy alot of Asian cuisine which sometimes uses lemongrass (well, alot at times). So it all just fit together nicely.

Cool! Thanks for the explanation. I’m no good at music, but I appreciate listening to it. Do you plan to build yourself a guitar? I’ve always had a great admiration for people who build musical instruments… it takes wood working to a whole new level

I do guitar repair for my day job so I get alot of fun out of that. I don’t really have an interest to build one but I have considered doing things like an electric cello or soemthing of the sort. I feel as though if I built a guitar it’d probably burn me out on doing my repairs and such. I have built a violin (from a kit not from scratch) and that was pretty fun. If I were to build the electric cello thing I’d definitely do it from scratch.
