Location: East Providence, RI

My age now begins with a six (Yikes)! I am married to my wonderful wife of 39 years. In 1978 I made a plywood rolling cabinet for my then, photography hobby and I was hooked on woodworking. For Christmas 1979, I put a Craftsman radial arm saw on my wish list and Santa, aka my wife, brought it. (See I told you she is wonderful.) Nearly 30 years later, in May 2009, I bought my first table saw. Wow, I thought I enjoyed woodworking before! What an awesome tool to use.

A native New Englander, I was raised a Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan (actually NY Giants until the Pats came along in 1960). It's my great hope that the NY lumberjocks will put woodworking before the Red Sox/Yankee rivalry!

Over the years, I have made beds for my children, hutches, a Queen Anne style coffee table (Those cabriole legs are challenging!), gifts for friends and relatives, etc. I guess I am most proud that I made my wife and my entire bedroom set from red oak. This includes a king-size bed, a mirrored dresser for her, a five-drawer chest of drawers for me and two nightstands.

I am delighted to have found this site while doing a search on reviews for the Rikon 14" band saw. I have found it to be a wonderful site for comaraderie, sharing of knowledge and advice/information.

Thank you to Trifern, Max, Scott Bryan, Grumpy, Rikkor and all others who have welcomed me. How do you add those neat quotes to your profile guys?

Hey Lenny—

As a died-in-the-wool Bills fan, I’m going to overlook the small misjudgment regarding the Patriots… lol! In all seriousness, it’s really great to have you aboard! Enjoy!!

The quotes are really a signature line. Go to your Lumberjocks home page, and under your picture is “edit your profile.” Add the quote there.

Thank you Mack. Now I have to choose from one of the myriad of quotes for which I am word renowned! (Yeah, right.) I am enjoying the quotes I have seen, including your play on words.

P.S. I bet you long for the days of Jim Kelly and Marv Levy!

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Welcome to this site. I came across your profile while looking for a friend as a new jock joining the site and thought this guy is like me…Big sports fan, who loves nothing more than talking woodworking, while watching the Yankees waste another 200+million. This is someone I can relate to!!!

I am relatively new to woodworking, but I have fallen hard for this “hobby” and I’m really looking forward to teaching my son and daughter as they get older. This site is filled with high character people who are extremely skilled, but also extremely generous in sharing their knowledge with others. Enjoy your stay and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work. Welcome to the place where everyone shares your passion.

Hi Lenny,

Thank you for communicating with me. I’m happy reading your message.

Yes Lenny, I viewed alot projects posted here. I comment, ask questions when in doubt and make suggestion if need to. That’s how I learn woodworking. I read a few ww magazines & books, signed-up a number of ww forum like FWN KNOTs, DIY Banter, Lumberjocks ..etc etc… But I spend most my free time visiting LJs. Lumberjocks is different in many ways. Not only it is user friendly, the all 6,000+ members are very kind, friendly and helpful.

Looking forward to viewing more projects from you.

Take care and work safe.
