In a way, I am a third generation Railroader. My Grandfather worked for over 50 years on the Detriot,Toledo, & Ironton RR. My Dad worked for awhile there as well, as a Fireman on the old Steamers. Grandpa Lew was killed at Morgan Tower in Quincy,Ohio when his railspeeder went across the diamonds there, and into the path of a Big Four (C.C.C.&St.L) Passenger train. Dad went on to be a mechanic, after the steamers were scrapped.

I went and filled out an application with the old Penn Central. Bad news, two weeks later, Pennsy went Bankrupt. Sooo, I started my own little railroad, in HO scale that is. And, IF I can find some of the old pictures, I’ll post them for your to look at. You might remember me from WOOD’s forum, as Whitedog. Recovering from a quadruple bypass last July. Still got a few years before I can retire( I’m 58). Let me know about those pictures..

After 2.39 years as a LJ, I still find this forum to be the best. I soured over other woodworking forums.
