Came back to woodworking after ending a lousy domestic situation. I've been blessed now with the world's best wife, and a well equipped shop. Hopefully I can get back up to speed skills wise...

Wood shop for me was one of the few classes in Junior High and High School that I actually enjoyed, and looked forward to. I built a lot of projects back then, everything from coat trees and kitchen tables to convex curved gluelams for skateboards. From 1987 to 2004 my total woodworking projects consisted of building a replacement dinette table / berth base for a rented travel trailer (it was cheaper to buy the router, bits, and cheap router table and do it myself in the time I had left than it was to buy a pre made piece, when all was said and done noone could tell...) some fence repairs on my house, and a strong tie and 2x4 workbench. Since restarting I have made countless bowls, spindles, boxes, step stools, toy cars and whatnot. Only very few of them worth talking about, but I am loving it. I really only started in earnest in early 2008, and have been getting in as much shop time as I can.

I am a system administrator by day, and do woodworking and other DIY pursuits for a creative outlet and stress relief.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
