Well I am not to happy with this one. The fit and finish of the frame is good. I think the maple plywood was a poor choice. I seen the sheet @ one the the big box store and thought with some of the sap wood showing it would look cool in a project; wrong project. the more I look at it, I don’t like it. My wife has the top and will be covering it with fabric. Maybe it will look better with the top completed. We will see.

Another lesson learned.

The lines of the sapwood almost make it have an Asian feel.

I think it looks pretty cool. Organic-craftsman. Looks like you put on a clear finish. I wonder what it would have looked like with a colored stain popping the grain. IMO… it looks interesting.

Hai Marc5,

You are the only one who dont like it, but its lookiing nice for me,
i like the contrast between sap and heart wood, for me its additional looks.

Sometimes other ppl though much better than ours, and you got to believe that.

I disagree, that pattern from the sap wood really makes the chest look great.

It looks like you inset a different wood in the panels, I like It and the way the sapwood runs around the corner.
