My first big home project. Pine bedroom set for my son for Christmas 4 yrs ago. Can never find what I want at furniture store. Got tired of it and designed and built it myself. Started something though. 3 rooms down and plans for the other rooms are on the list.

(EDIT)- What you can’t see in pice is that if you slide the mattress out, you can get access to the “canyon”. I boxed in the wasted space behind the drawers for storage. It runs full length and depth and about 18” wide.
The three drawers are 22”x22”x22”, toybox sized.

Also, the desk has electrical outlets in the opening behind the X-Box and mounted face up in the top which are wired into an extension cord to plug into a wall outlet. Cuts down on having to climb under to plug in a lamp or iPod/phone charger when he’s there.

The nightstand has a laundry hamper. The box is attached to the front and hinged with a piani hinge across the bottom of the door with a stop at the top-back of the box that catches at the face frame.

Looks great. I like the deep drawers on the bed.

Nice set up. I hear ya about the furniture stores, same reason I started to build my own office suite. Look forward to seeing the other rooms.

Welcome to LumberJocks BTW..

Will post my daughters’ room and the living room’s already up. The deep drawers were more for toys and stuff since I had room for that big dresser.
