Solid Cherry, the table has a floating style top. Finished= Oil finish with a Lacquer top Coat, wet sanded with 500 grit and applied a finish Wax with 0000 Steel Wool. Had two Granddaughters who did Ballet this a tribute to them. I settled on the size then I used a large paper with vertical and horizontal lines one inch. on center. On this paper I laid out the height and width and free handed the legs and feet. This may be an unorthodox method but it worked well for me.

Nice work, great looking table. Im sure your granddaughters will love the tribute. Regarding the layout with the 1 inch squares, sounds like a good process to me, what coulc be better than a full scale drawing.

beautiful craftsmanship. Very creative. I Love the way the top floats, a true artists decision. My compliments!

Very unique work.
A question how did you prepare the legs?
Did you stagger them to maximise the use of timber before cutting?

I like the design layout no doubt it kept you on your toes!

Calling this “eye catching” would be an understatement. Nice work.

Thank ea. of you, having looked @ the great work you all have posted I am humbled by your encouraging comments. Robscastle, you are correct I did stagger the pattern to maximize the materials.

Beautiful little table. And I’m sure your Ballerinas loved how you captured the “feet”
