This kitchen island is on casters so it is portable. It’s made of red oak for the cabinet, and a large variety of woods for the butcher block type top. I took a bunch of pieces I had left over from previous projects and pieced them together for the top. It has white oak, cedar, hickory, maple, elm, walnut, ash, poplar, and purple heart strips. The top is finished with five coats of General Finishes Arm-R-Seal Topcoat urethane to make it water resistant. The cabinet is stained Ipswich Pine (Minwax) and finished with two coats of sanding sealer and two coats of lacquer, sprayed. The project will be donated to our local hospital which does a fundraiser each year for scholarships.

great project for a good cause,that should sell well and raise a lot of money.i love that multi species top,and an excellent way to use up your left overs.nice work.
