Finally put many of my lessons learned to practice. This is my latest clock. Gift for my mom. It has an angel carved pattern with an ornamental rosette embellishments on the top plate. The sides have a carved rose vine pattern. Installed an electronic clock mechanism with Westminster chimes (forgot to take pictures after the installation). Access is easy through the back for all controls, batteries and volume.

Made with walnut and African mahogany. Hand turned columns.

Did you turn the columns on a full size lathe or a small/mini lathe?

Thanks all.

Charles, It was on a 18” mini-lathe. The columns are only about 8 inches tall. I used to have a 48” lathe but almost never used so got rid of it to save some floor space. My small lathe has so far met all my needs.

Have your say...
