Blanket Chest

I made this blanket chest from solid pine. It’s hand-dove-tailed, has turned feet and custom-made ram’s-horn hinges. I used Spanish oak stain on it along with a clear polyurethane finish. It has a built-in glove box on the left side that also acts as a support to hold the lid open. The dimensions are: 41-3/4 inches wide by 18-1/2 inches deep by 25 inches high (with feet).

Nice!

Great design. I love the hinges and also how you used the lid of the glove box to hold up the main lid. I find modern hardware wears out too quickly, but I think your design will last much longer. This is a great heirloom to pass down.
