A simple cherry wall shelf; I found the plans in an old magazine in a box. Blonde shellac and paste wax.

Always called them Shaker shelves. We would tie a loop of leather through a hole near the top, and hang them from a rail with Shaker pegs. I sold a bunch of those back when. Pretty easy to make, and would sell like hotcakes. Not so sure Shaker, Country and Early American are so cool these days though. Does my heart good to see one made.
