Bat Pattern

This is a bat pattern I made from a Louisville Slugger bat to be use for copying at the high school when the students turn a bat. It is marked off at various increments and they can mark their blanks off at the same increments and transfer the diameters with a spring caliper to their blanks. Then it is just cutting/ blending the curves to the marked diameters…like connecting the dots!
The bat I made like this last year could not be found this season!

It is made from a birch branch I had in my wood room and is finished with clear matte finish just to keep it clean.

Cheers, Jim

Very nice template. I remember not being allowed to make a bat in hs when I had asked.

The Bat looks really nice.

Great profile for the students to follow.

I made a bat and it took me time to get the diameters right. This would be the way to go. Good idea, CONNECTING THE DOTS. I remember this next time.

Sweet!

Having the dimensions on the full size pattern and protected by the finish really makes it much easier for the kids (and you).
