I found a cribbage board inside an old piece of firewood!
Cheap gift ideas ….. hopefully the bark won’t fall off before Xmas.

What a great (cheap) idea! I think I have a bunch of them out in my yard! Did you do anything for storage (pegs, cards) on the bottom?

I just routed a little cavity and drilled a couple of holes to stick the pegs in. They are tapered and light enough that they’ll stay there even upside down. And routed out areas at the ends to make it easier to pick up.

BTW:

“holes” template: https://canadianhomeworkshop.com/files/2011/11/130-cribbage.pdf

pegs: http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?c=&p=32777&cat=1

bandsaw jig for cutting logs: https://woodgears.ca/shop-tricks/bandsaw_sled.html (though I skipped the mitre slot and just pushed it against the fence).

Have your say...
