This box is Mesquite and Ambrosia Maple.
It is approximately 13” x 9” x 4.5”.
My wife wanted the top to be removable so she can use it as a tray.

The figure in the wood looks like a backgammon board. Very nice work.

I had the same thought. With the bookmatch and that cool ghoul dripping Ambrosia it does kinda look like a BG table.

Neat use of the woods, that is for sure. When people are seeing things in the work, you know you mixed the boards up just right.

Thanks for posting.

A multitasking box. That is a really good idea. Nice execution.

Charlie, the bookmatched maple is really eye-catching. Beautiful job on that and the finish. I like the splines and the idea of the top doubling as a tray. If I may ask, what will go in the tray and the box? The splines bring out the colors in the top and bottom of the box. I really like this color combination. You have an excellent eye for wood and are skilled at letting the wood speak for itself. Thanks for sharing your work with us. Keep boxing and keep posting.
