I see a lot of guys posting wands so I looked into them and found one from a guy named Dumbledore from Harry Potter. I was just goofing around in the barn the other night and thought I’d try to make one. The block of pistachio was so cracked that I was only able to get two pieces that might make wands out of a 2×6 x 20 piece.
I scaled the photo and made one and it survived so I turned another out of the spare piece. They are 15” long.
The block in the photo is a piece of that cracked pistachio that is about 70 years old

I did the dimpling with a Dremel and they are finished with Danish oil and then buffed and waxed.

Cheers, Jim

Very neat.

Good rescue of otherwise condemned wood.

I bet they were fun to make too. I also bet you had to do the point it and mumble thing too.

Nice! Do you have to use a steady rest to turn these?

Cool Jim. Use that wand to remove the cracks in that piece of wood. That’s a shame.

OH NO! You just created TWO of the most powerful wands in the Wizarding World! Harry Potter destroyed that wand for a reason. What have you done? LOL

Great job. They look very authentic. Have a great weekend.

How about use that wand to fill the cracks with gold! lol :) Very cool Jim, certainly there is a Potter fan somewhere in your world that will love to create magic with them! You have certainly been busy with the lathe and creating beautiful things!

Those wanda look great, Jim . My daughters and I watched all the movies together, so this may be a good Christmas project. Thanks for the inspiration!

These were very well done Jim. Now you can conjure up new tools and maybe a larger shop!

Thank you all for the nice comment on these wands.

Hi Lew. I did use my steady rest with a banjo on each side. I can’t hold the part and turn, especially at the speed I turn.

Hi Kim, I will be looking for just the right persons for these!!

Cheers, Jim
