I’m looking for someone else that has created a bandsaw box that is curved on all four sides. I’d like to discuss their technique. I haven’t found anyone else doing this so thanks in advance.

Nice work. Doesn’t look like you need much advise, at all.

That’s amazing. I’ve made very simple band saw boxes. I haven’t been gutsy enough to try something like yours.

Is the box in the picture yours, or an example of something you want to do? As far as technique, If you’re starting with something that’s flat on all 4 sides, you can draw the profiles you want on each side – make the first curved cut, then use something like double-side tape to reattach the cut side (so you still have a flat surface to run against the table/fence). Repeat that process on all 4 sides, then take off the cut sections..

Great job! It reminds me of the Mrs. Pearson dresser or Sobey dressers.

In my experience, there isn’t but so much you can do with pine. I hate pine to be honest. I also don’t care for “rustic”. But in this case, the finish was Tung oil, thinned with mineral spirits and polyurethane added.

There is a guy here on LJ’s that did a cracked band saw box. You could PM him and maybe get something going.

In the search box on this site search “band saw box” you might find some others.

The cracked boxes are one of my favorite styles of those boxes. Do a google search and find the cracked boxes if you are interested.

Excellent job on yours.

Thanks. I made a few cracked boxes years ago. They’re neat but widely produced…..”everyone is doing it”. All my boxes are “one offs”. Flat front and back boxes are simple. As I mentioned, I’m looking for someone doing 4 sided curves.

You sure do some magnificent work… design, execution & finishing. I don’t remember seeing anyone doing a better job “hiding” the cut lines.
