Anyone else having trouble getting to the sawmillcreek.org site? My connection keeps timing out. This has been going on since yesterday.

Woody,

It appears to be down. I also get a timeout.

I used http://www.websitedown.info/ to check the site and and got the same result. Looks like a major outage for them.

The connectivity site I use [isitdownrightnow.com] shows the site being down for over a week.

Well, that’s just not true.

As with most things that are storm/hurricane,tornado related, it will be back up and running when it’s back up and running.

According to this (http://70.169.135.35.ipaddress.com/), their IP is located in Gloucester, Virginia. Looks like they had some storm damage and power lines down in the area.

Yes,

SMC servers are located about 15 min from where I live and the whole area around Keith’s house was taken down by power outages. Even once the power is restored to the SMC servers, the overhead fiber to the server may still be out. A lot of stuff in this area is run overhead and we have lots of trees.

We had a lot of downed trees on power lines. It does look like they may have power restored by 6pm-10pm tonight. Now sure how long it will take for him to get the servers back up and running and restore connection.

Feel free to go to the site admins and tell them their info is incorrect. Arguing with me isn’t going to change what they display.

Of course when I look up the LJ IP location, the Lat & Long show it to be located in what looks like an independent living facility (The Remington at Valley Ranch) in Irving, TX so take the physical location from this website with grain of salt.

Now I know what I can do when I get too old to live on my own and can no longer make sawdust: Start a server farm.

FYI the actual servers for SMC are located in Gloucester, Va.

I have been physically standing next to them.

SMC servers are located at a residence in a detached building on the second floor above Keith’s shop.

Seems like SMC being located in an independent living facility would me more appropriate…
